Bicycle Repairing Workshop in Italy

The “Bicyle repairing workshop” in Italy has been organised by Co&So, the Italian project partner, in collaboration with its associated cooperative “Intrecci”, which provides services, including the management of youth centers, to disadvantaged youth in Pistoia.

The event took place in the “Ciclofficina Casa in Piazzetta” youth center, Pistoia, managed by Intrecci and it was attended by 12 young people aged 14-17 years, mainly boys. The bicycles for the event were both brought by the young people themselves but there were also some bicycles provided by the bike mechanic and educators that could be used to practice the repairing methods.

The Bicycle Repairing Workshop was appreciated by the yougsters, they had fun and said that the event was “really cool” and interesting.

It was a great success and served as a key opportunity to promote important values such as recycling, redevelopment, and environmental sustainability!

The event was advertised through social media (Instagram) and a flyer, created precisely for the event, has been sent through WhatsApp messages to the young girls and boys who regularly attend the cooperative’s youth centers. Educators have even urged personally young people to attend the event and to spread the word about the event among their friends.
